We got the idea to watch PCU, the 1994 comedy that’s been oddly memory-holed in the streaming era. (Try this.) It’s bizarre that PCU isn’t more easily watch-able, since its skewering of college sensitivities has proven quite prophetic. Plus, the movie has pre-fame David Spade and Jon Favreau, pre-MeToo Jeremy Piven (already balding as a college senior), and George Clinton and P-Funk (according to IMDb, the band was supposed to be Nirvana, but they were too expensive). The movie is packed with terrific 90s fashion and quotable lines. “Tonight, at The Pit, Everyone Gets Laid.”
