It’s 3:33am, and your narrator has politics on the brain. She grew up at a time when a proper lady never discussed three topics: politics, religion, or money. Well! Your narrator was not a “proper lady.” She liked talking about those things! And yet, with decades of wisdom and a few gazillion Twitter kerfuffles in the rear-view mirror, she has changed her tune. It’s possible — OK, let’s just say it’s accurate — we have let politics ruin our discourse.
