It’s 3:07 a.m., and your narrator is talking about writing while broke — although she’s really talking about BEING broke and the shell game of borrowing money from friends (well, one friend and an older brother), payment plans to the IRS, credit card nonsense, buying glitter heels from Louboutin, dating someone who is also broke (bad idea), and so much more.
There is a cat fight — a literal cat fight in the background, you can hear the screeching — and a possible possum sighting, though it might have been a large rat. Come ski the slopes of writerly anxiety, financial potholes, creative bookkeeping, and the stubborn resilience of a writer with the audacity to NOT have a trust fund.
