On Sunday, June 2, the Smoke Em community took to Zoom to discuss our Group Watch, the Quentin Tarantino masterwork Pulp Fiction. Did Sarah crash 15 minutes into the film? Did Nancy catch feelings for Bruce Willis? Was someone on the call going by the name “Pamela Des Barres,” aka the 70s supergroupie? Answers abound. We also discuss dancing as foreplay, how Pulp Fiction stacks up against Reservoir Dogs and Django Unchained (as well as Scorsese’s best), the cool and dorky genius of Tarantino, and what the hell is in that suitcase?
Real talk: We’d rather you come in person to these things, but we’re posting the discussion for folks who missed it / are curious / are shy. Please note this Zoom call had Zoom problems (glitchy passages, mute button issues, awkward silences). A storm in Dallas had just wiped out the power in part of Sarah’s house, so please forgive her hiccups.
Also discussed: Mises caucus on gummies at the Libertarian convention, Terence Howard on Joe Rogan, Trump casting himself as a political prisoner, Hillary shooting her shot. (Money quote: “I wish she would just stop talking.”) All we know for sure is that it’s gonna be a good year for lawyers.
