I haven't listened yet but I already know that's going to taste great. There was an avocado tree in my back yard growing up, but I didn't like them back then! Making up for that error ever since. And I have 4 small plants in a pot now, grown from the pits. Just a fun little project.

Beautiful. I loved hearing about your friends and memories when your kids were babies and your pics are gorgeous. Charlie's guac sounds delicious and so does yours. I always make Ina Garten's recipe and it's delicious as well. Guacamole is one of the best foods.

It's thrilling to have a song dedicated to you on stage. That's a great story and One Headlight is a great song. I have a similar story, but it doesn't have the same cachet. My childhood friend and I hadn't seen one another in decades. He saw me in the crowd and sang and dedicated Raspberry Beret by Prince to me, which was ironic because he is part of a rock band and for them to play such a poppy song was great. When we were kids I LOVED this song and he remembered. It was definitely a nice moment.

I’ve made guacamole a couple dozen times for parties, etc. Started with a recipe but now it’s pretty much in my head ... amount of each ingredient depends on your particular preference ...

smash several relatively mushy but still green avocados in a large bowl with lots of lime juice to your desired chunkiness

add finely chopped red onion, less finely chopped tomatoes, salt, garlic, chopped cilantro, probably more lime juice

mix together, let sit for 30 minutes, taste and adjust if necessary

Simple. Always a hit.

"Antsy Nancy"...😆 (I would take that as a compliment if I were a journalist.) I'm embarrassed that I haven't read your serialized novel yet, but I've now added it to my TBR.

Digressing to cookies, how do you pack up the chocolate chip cookies (pie talk #2) bf shipping them overnight? My daughter’s bd is in a few days & she has enough “things” ❤️

When they are still just a little warm, I pack them between sheets of waxed paper. If you can find a plastic container to fit them in, all the better. I then use a USPS box to mail. I'd do overnight as they stay freshest that way.

Postscript: cookies big birthday hit, even though the only overnight from rural Missouri was usps priority express (*) which arrived after 2 days instead of overnight. I quote: “The cookies were delicious!!! Perfect texture and not too sweet— soooo addictive”

(*) Shipping cost worked out to about $8 each for a half dozen big cookies. Worth it. Thanks again 💕

I am delighted! Another listener made the red sauce AND the gargantuan lasagna, of which he menfolk apparently ate multiple portions of. My work is done!

Oh! I also made a mini portion (3/10) of the red sauce and froze in pint sized portions for a dinner for two. Just finished last portion last night & planning to make a full batch next week! (Btw it’s delicious on baked eggplant, garnished with any grated cheese that’s in fridge)
