Not Sarah’s actual fridge, but close...

Coming to you LIVE from under our covers, it’s a whole new audio-diary series. We’re calling it “Pillow Talk.” Will this name change? Who knows. Like any good story, we have no idea where this is going.

This week we talk Dry January, the month when people abstain from alcohol for a month. Why do they do this, and can we blame Joe Rogan? All we know is that the end-caps at Target have many zazzy non-alcoholic beverages. (And we end up on many other podcasts this month.)

We also know that quitting drinking for a month — even as an experiment — comes with many side benefits. Losing weight, saving money, better skin, absolutely zero puking in the potted plant. Sex can be scary, but also incredible. And stepping away from booze gives you an awareness of our culture’s strange fixation on drinking, and our deficit of creativity about how to spend time together without, like, Jagerbombs.

Also: N/A drink recommendations! Slightly sleepy rambling! But the most exciting part of this audio diary (for your narrator) is an appearance by Wallace the cat, the start of what we’re sure will be a lucrative podcasting career.

Audio diaries are for paid-subscribers only. Come on, everyone’s doing it.
